PROPELLERS
Marine Propellers Selected for Your Vessel and Shaft Line
Propeller selection begins with the vessel, engine and gearbox – not diameter alone. ERBA Marine coordinates propeller supply after reviewing operating duty, shaft rotation, hull clearance, existing propeller data and installation interfaces.
Project capability includes fixed-pitch bronze propellers up to 5 m diameter and 6 tonnes, subject to technical review.
Bronze propeller solutions
Three-, four- and five-blade configurations are available depending on the confirmed design.
ERBA-Managed Supply
Technical clarification, quotation and supply through ERBA Marine.
Drawing-Led Review
Interfaces checked from verified project information.
Newbuild & Replacement
Support for planned projects, refits and replacement scopes.
GCC Coordination
Regional commercial and delivery coordination.
PROPELLER TYPES
Five routes for different vessel and duty requirements.
Final blade count, diameter, pitch, area, skew, cup, material and machining tolerance are confirmed from the project data.
Precision-Finished Propellers
CNC-machined performance configurations for applications requiring close control of blade geometry, balance and finish.
- Three-, four- or five-blade designs
- Application-specific geometry
- Final tolerance confirmed per order
Cupped Propellers
Cupped blade configurations evaluated where present loading, RPM behaviour and operating duty support this route.
- Selected from actual vessel data
- Diameter and clearance checked
- No generic performance promise
Custom & High-Skew Propellers
Project-specific diameter, blade count, pitch, blade area and hub details coordinated for the vessel.
- Custom geometry
- Replacement or newbuild
- Drawing-led confirmation
Kaplan-Type Propellers
Wide-blade propeller configurations for suitable workboat and commercial applications, including nozzle projects.
- Application-led selection
- Propeller and nozzle reviewed together
- Final geometry project-specific
CPP Replacement Blades
Replacement controllable-pitch propeller blades reviewed against the existing hub, geometry, rotation and records.
- Existing hub data required
- Blade dimensions verified
- CPP applications up to 4 m published capability
PUBLISHED CAPABILITY
Material and geometry are confirmed for the actual project.
Available bronze grades include manganese bronze and nickel-aluminium bronze options. Class and inspection requirements must be declared before quotation.
Inputs that drive selection
Power alone is not enough for reliable propeller selection.
- Engine output and rated RPM
- Gear ratio and shaft rotation
- Hull, displacement, duty and clearance
Replacement evidence
The strongest replacement enquiry includes both machinery data and verified propeller details.
- Diameter, pitch and blade count
- Hub bore, taper, key and nut
- Stamping photos and drawing if available

PROJECT PROCESS
A clear route from enquiry to coordinated supply.
Custom and replacement propulsion equipment benefits from documented technical checkpoints.
PROCESS
1. Send the project data
Share vessel, machinery, dimensions, photos, drawings and required scope.
PROCESS
2. Clarify the interfaces
ERBA Marine identifies missing inputs and checks connected components.
PROCESS
3. Confirm the proposal
Configuration, materials, documentation, commercial terms and delivery are agreed.
PROCESS
4. Coordinate supply
ERBA Marine remains the customer-facing contact through the confirmed supply scope.
Important: Published examples describe available solution routes. Final dimensions, materials, tolerances, class or inspection scope, price and delivery are confirmed only in ERBA Marine’s written quotation.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Marine Propellers FAQs
Practical answers for selection, replacement and project planning.
No. Engine data is essential, but gearbox ratio, vessel dimensions, hull form, displacement, duty, shaft rotation and available clearance also affect selection.
Yes, subject to technical review. An existing drawing or verified details for diameter, pitch, blade count, hub bore, taper, key and rotation will help define the replacement.
Yes. Custom configurations can be coordinated where the vessel data supports them. Final geometry, material and dimensions are confirmed through the project review and quotation.
Rotation is confirmed from the gearbox output and shaft arrangement. Single, twin and multi-shaft projects can be reviewed when complete rotation information is provided.
No result should be promised from limited data. Actual vessel performance also depends on hull condition, loading, machinery condition, installation and operating environment.
PROJECT-SPECIFIC ENQUIRY
Request an ERBA Marine Marine Propellers review.
Send the strongest available technical information. ERBA Marine will review the requirement and identify any missing dimensions or interfaces before quotation.
- Attach drawings and clear photographs.
- State known dimensions and operating concerns.
- Declare class, inspection or documentation needs early.
- Final scope is confirmed in writing before supply.
